Obituary for Ursula I. LaFluer (Goosfeld) Ursula I. (Goosfeld) LaFluer Whitesboro, NY Mrs. Ursula I. (Goosfeld) LaFluer, age 87, formerly of Utica, NY and currently of Myrtle Beach, SC, where she moved to be with her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Joann LaFluer, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 at her home in Myrtle Beach with her family at her side. She was born in Coburg, Germany, on June 26, 1929, a daughter of the late Heinrich and Barbara (Stenglein) Goosfeld. Ursula was raised and educated in Germany. As a young girl she met her husband Neil while he was serving in Germany with the U.S. Army. The couple relocated to the United States and the Utica area in 1955; they were married in Whitesboro, NY that same year. Mr. LaFluer passed away in March of 1987 after over 32 years of marriage. At one time she held a position with the Eden Park Nursing home. Mrs. LaFluer retired from the Utica City School District where she was a Lunch Aid for over thirteen years. She was a member of The Church of The Sacred Heart and Saint Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa in New York Mills, NY and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Carolina. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Dean Mullikan, Silvana LaFluer and her companion Alvin Green all of VA., Linda and Thaddeus S. “Ted” Kaczor of Kirkville, NY, and Patricia and Frank Soldato of Utica; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas N. Sr., and Joann LaFluer of Myrtle Beach, SC., James B. LaFluer of FL., and John and Sandra LaFluer of of NY; grandchildren, Kimberly Saffin, Kristine Williams, Kenny Wayne and AllisonWojiechowski, B.J. and Tara Wojiechowski, Christopher and Courtnie Wojiechowski, Marie Soldato, Frank Soldato, Nicole and Keith Pinto, Thomas and Kelly LaFluer, Jamie and Benjy Davis, Joseph Neil and Brynn LaFluer, Stacey and Hayden Crawford, and Charity and Chris Kitch; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchild; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Siegfried Rosch of Germany, and Rosel and Gerald Waldrep of SC; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Franz and Ruth Goosfeld, and Heinrich and Anni Stenglein all of Germany. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and in-laws: Gail Petti of Whitesboro, and Rita Goosfeld of Germany. Ursula also leaves many special friends including: Jane DeMarch, and Leroy Mursch. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Lynn Wayne LaFluer; three brothers, Hanz, Herman, and Carl Goosfeld; and her long time companion, Stanley Sobieraj, Sr. on February 11, 2010. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, July 25, 2016, from 4:00 – 6:00 at the Adrean Funeral Service, Inc., 700 Rutger Street, corner of Mohawk Street in Utica, (at the Matt Funeral Home). Mrs. LaFluer’s funeral service and celebration of life will take place at 6:00 immediately following visitation at the funeral home, with the Rev. Arthur Krawczenko officiating.
