Shirley A. (Weeden) Tilson, 87, died in on September 8, 2019 after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Otis and Viola (Perry) Weeden. She was born on January 12, 1932. Shirley was the wife of the late Herbert V. Tilson. She was educated by the Providence School System. She lived in Providence, Rhode Island all her life. Shirley was a proud Native American Indian and took pride in her heritage. She loved her childhood and shared many great stories with those who loved hearing them. She came from a musical family and played the piano. She enjoyed painting and had many other talents. Shirley was funny and brought laughter into the lives of many. Most of all, she was a true follower of God. Shirley leaves behind 6 children, Herbert Tilson Jr., Renee (Tilson) Evora, Juan Tilson, Juana Tilson, Tina (Tilson) Desilets, and Lisa (Tilson) Arawole, 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Avis, Dorothy, Harold, Otis, Andrew and Edward Weeden. She also had many cousins and friends. She will be missed and loved by all who knew her.
