Obituary of Joseph G. Goff Mr. Joseph G. Goff, 86, of Montgomery Street, Canajoharie, NY died peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Born in Yonkers, NY he was the son of the late James and Mary Mone Goff. Joe served proudly with the United States Army during Korea. He was a graduate of the Culinary Institute and worked as a Chef his entire career, most notably for the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan. He was married to the love of his life, Rose Lally Goff and raised 7 children in Yonkers, NY. They relocated their family to Canajoharie 31 years ago. Rose predeceased Joe on December 14, 2018. Survivors include seven children, Andrew (Colette) Goff, Mary (Werner) Stiegler, Cathy (Dennis) Goff- Pryzgoda, Joseph (Patricia) Goff, Eileen Goff, Patrick (Mary) Goff, Noreen (Jeff) Kenyon; seventeen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 10a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 115 Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s & Paul’s Cemetery, Canajoharie. Calling hours will be held this evening, Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 4 until 7p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be in his memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
