Dorothy’s Obituary Dorothy Dawn Arnold, residing in Brookfield, WI, formerly long-time resident of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. She was 87 years old. She was born May 4, 1932 in Plymouth, a daughter of Donald & Dorothy (Schrom) Green. On November 27, 1953 in South Bend, IN, Dorothy was united in marriage to Otto Arnold, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael, two sisters, Janet Thornburg, Wanda Good and five brothers, Donald, Richard, Robert, Max & Joe Green. Dorothy retired from the South Bend School Corp. where she worked for many years as a cook. She was a longtime member of the Grace Church in Granger, IN. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (Skip) Hay of New Berlin, WI; sisters Lois Miller of Plymouth, IN, and Kay (Larry) Randt of North Liberty, IN; along with 4 grandchildren, Jonathan, David, Jennifer, and Crystal; as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Charity and Alexander. A service celebrating the life of Dorothy Arnold will be held Friday, October 11, 2019, with visitation at 10 am and memorial service at 11 am. Location is Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN 46561. No child ever went hungry while Dorothy was working in the school cafeteria.
