Obituary of Donald M. DeMoranville RENSSELAER – Donald “Don” M. DeMoranville, Sr., 83, of Rensselaer rejoined his beloved wife, Joyce passing away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Home, surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born March 19, 1936, in Albany, New York, the son of the late Melville and the late Margurite (Snyder) DeMoranville. Donald Retired from Matthew Bender and formerly worked in the Water Dept. for the City of Albany. Don was an avid hunter and loved to fish with his good buddy Robert Snay Sr., while teaching all the tips to his children and grandchildren. Donald was a selfless volunteer at the Rensselaer little league and could always be found with a smile, even if his grandkids didn’t have a game. He could often be found sitting at Stewart’s enjoying a cup of coffee, ready to shoot the breeze with anyone. All the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of Donald’s life. The legacy of his kind spirit, passion for the outdoors, story telling, and zest for life will live on through them. Don had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a passion for birds, love for shooting darts, horseshoes, playing his guitar and listening to blue grass or classic country music. With a knowledge of mechanics, that couldn’t be matched. To call him a Don of all trades would be an understatement. Donald had many names: Don, Donnie, Husband, partner, father, Dad, Daddy, Pop, Poppy, son, brother, uncle and friend, but one thing is for sure he will be missed greatly by all but never forgotten. Survivors include ; Daughter Michelle Fink (Troy Dominy) of Rensselaer, Maureena (Al) Oliver of Greenville, Deanna(Jeff) Howland of Rensselaer, Tina Bussing of Green Island, Melba Caparelli of Albany, Jennifer DeMoranville-Depace of Buffalo, son John (Diane) DeMoranville of Georgia, Joseph (Connie) DeMoranville of North Carolina, Little John DeMoranville of Schenectady, Donald (Diane) DeMoranville Jr. of East Greenbush, Beloved baby sister Arrita (Robert) Van Hatten of Schenectady, step-daughter Peggy Burnash of Georgia. Grandfather or better known as Pop/Poppy to over 35 grandchildren including Donavan (Courtney) , Jarred, Tristan, Rowan, Sterling whom he lived with and great grandfather of over 20 including baby Carsyn. He was Predeceased by his wife of 47 years Joyce, brothers Melville DeMoranville, Douglas DeMoranville, by step-sons Raymond Childs, Arthur Childs, Robert Childs. Special thanks to his health care advisor, partner in sarcastic wit and over all friend who always had his back Robert Fink. The biggest hug and love goes to Katrina Snay for sitting by Michelle’s side and kicking into CNA mode until the very last second. You will forever hold a special place in her heart. Michelle and her boys would also like to send out the greatest admiration and gratitude to Community Hospice of East Greenbush and all of the caretakers who assisted all of us during this process.
