Barbara S, Vaughan, 57 of Kankakee, IL passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Amita St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL She was born on February 25, 1962 in Springfield, IL Her parents were Curtis and Maxine Brandt. Barb graduated from BBCHS and went on to become a Certified Nurses Aide. She married Vincent Vaughan in 1984 in Bradley, IL. Vincent and Barb’s dreams came true when they adopted a son, Tyler Bower. Barb was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Bradley, IL where she was an active volunteer. Barb was a very AVID Oklahoma Sooners Football Fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Barbara and Vince spent 4 years in Japan, while he served in the US Navy. She met some very special friends (her Boys) that she and Vince have kept in contact with until her last days. Barb is survived by her spouse Vincent and son Tyler. Her brother; Mike and Judy Brandt. She is proceeded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held at Barb’s church, Our Savior Lutheran Church, 975 W Brookmont Blvd. Bradley, IL 60915 Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:30am with Barb’s Celebration of Life at 11:30am. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery, Rt102 Bourbonnais, IL. There will be a luncheon provided back at the church after the burial. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the families wishes. Jensen Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
