Alma’s Obituary Alma Stevens LaMarca, age 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Heritage Healthcare in Hammond, Louisiana. She was born on August 24,1928 in Amite, Louisiana. She retired from the Highway Department after 30 years of service and then spent several years as the secretary for Saint Helena Catholic Church. Alma was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a scrabble enthusiast and book lover, who wrote a poem for each child’s and grandchild’s birthday. Alma loved traveling, casinos, horse races, parades, festivals and any opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine with loved ones. She was a cherished aunt to innumerable nieces and nephews. She was the life of every party and will be truly missed. She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, Larry and Cathy LaMarca, Libby Rose, Lorraine and Calvin Miller, Lance and Mary LaMarca; as well as 2 grandchildren, Whitney Waller and Lindsay LaMarca; and 3 great grandchildren, Clementine Waller, Evangeline Waller and Sawyer Waller. She was also survived by her long time Special Friend, Joe Vicaro. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Jones and Van Stevens; step father, Eddie Jones; brothers, Alfred “Snake” Stevens, and Sidney Stevens; and former spouse, Carlo A. LaMarca. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. Services conducted by Mark Stevens.
