Doris June Butler, 92, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. Doris was born November 22, 1926 in Houston, TX to Norwood and Minnie Brown. She married Russell Butler and shared many loving memories with him until his passing. She spent most of her work life being a Bookkeeper for JC Penney, Western Auto, and Lumber Mart. Doris was a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church of Siloam Springs. She enjoyed being in her flower garden, sewing, reading, and playing the piano in her younger years. Most of all, she cherished her time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Pat Amos of Grove, OK., Grandchildren, Brian Shackelford and wife, Sandi of Colcord, OK., Kim Berry and husband, Kevin of Gentry, AR., Craig Pittman and wife, Regina of Siloam Springs, AR., and Jennifer Peebles; 17 Great-Grandchildren; 8 Great-Great Grandchildren; and many other loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Norwood and Minnie Dishman-Brown; her husband, Russell Butler; 2 Daughters, Joyce Miller and Pamela Peebles; 2 Grandsons, Jason Shackelford and Darrin Pittman; a Great-Granddaughter; a Great-Great-Granddaughter; and 2 Son-In-Laws, Walter Miller and Ervin Amos. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 11:00am- 1:00pm at Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel with the funeral following at Oak Hill Cemetery at 2:00pm. Pastor Gordan Topping will officiate the service. The arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
