James Edwin Scrougham, age 69, of Plainfield, IN passed from this world on Sunday July 7, 2019. He was born in Franklin, IN on July 21, 1949 to Carl E. and Minnie L. (Boyd) Scrougham. He is survived by his son Howard Scrougham of Speedway, IN. and 4 daughters; Shonna Scrougham of Morgantown, IN, Lora Scrougham of Plainfield, IN., Jenny Scrougham of Indianapolis, IN and Kim Smith of Clayton, IN. Several brothers, sisters, and grandchildren also survive. James was a carpenter and a general contractor for many years owning and operating J & S Contracting. He was a Proud Army Veteran serving in Vietnam where he received the Purple Heart. He is loved and greatly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of life will be Friday July 12, 2019 at 5:00PM at Indiana Memorial Cremation & Funeral Care Trafalgar Chapel 3030 West County Road 300 South at State Road 135. With visitation from 2:00PM until time of services at 5:00PM Burial with military honors will be Friday July 19, 2019 at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
