James Ronald Kirk July 09, 1944 – June 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card James Ronald Kirk, 74, of Bridgman, MI, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on July 9, 1944 in Sawyer, MI to the late Alvis and Grace Kirk. On July 10, 1993, James married Nancy Wines in Bridgman, MI. James was a long haul trucker, better known as “Shakey Jake” by his many trucking buddies and his truck “Big Green”, for 40 years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR especially Richard Petty. He was also a fan of Chicago Bears and Bulls, until Michael Jordan retired. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing down south at his sister’s house, Dinky the Duck, and canine companions, Jack and Roxy. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; sons, James L. (Tracy) Kirk, Scott L. Kolberg; daughters, Deanna L. Bosley, Krystal K. (Bill Draper) Kolberg; brother, Farrell (Bev) Kirk; brother-in-law, Ron Bond; sisters, Violet Zebell, Jan (Everett) Stolte, Maxine (Bernie) Skala, Linda (Brian) Habel, Judy Smith; grandchildren, Kayla Kolberg, Hunter Kirk, and Hannah Kirk; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Grace; brothers, Carrol Kirk, Max Kirk, Bill Kirk; sister, Betty Bond; grandson, Zachary Schoenbach; dog of 20 years, Roxy. A memorial service for James will be held by the family from 11-2 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 Church St., Bridgman, MI 49106.
