Dorothy Louise Wacker, 89, of DeSoto, KS, passed away peacefully Monday, June 10, 2019 at Hillside Village of DeSoto. She was born July 22, 1929 in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Homer and Margaret Pruett. On August 13, 1948 in the dining room of her mother’s house, she married the love of her life, Robert Wacker who preceded her in death. Dorothy enjoyed crafting, baking, sewing, and cooking. She was an active member of the Grandview Christian Church. She worked for Sav-on and Ball’s Grocery as a clerk. The biggest part of her life was her faith and family. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years Robert; parents Homer and Margaret; siblings, Homer Pruett Jr., twin sister Doris Mitchell and Jack Pruett and two children, Charlene Wacker and Linda Rogers. She is survived by four children, Robert Wacker and wife Ann of North Canton, OH, Sharon Ferguson and husband Tom of Lenexa, KS, Kenneth Wacker of Iola, KS, and Phillip Wacker of Olathe, KS; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 18, 2019 with a visitation beginning at 1:00 until service time at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
