Joseph “Wayne”s Obituary Mr. Joseph “Wayne” Cochran, age 75, of Rome passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at his residence. Mr. Cochran was born on February 3, 1944, in Floyd County, GA, son of the late Calvin Coolidge Cochran and the late Clara Elizabeth Cook Cochran. He attended Pepperell High School and acquired his GED. Prior to retirement in 1996, Wayne was associated with Reeves Transportation as a terminal manager for over 25 years. He was hard working and loved his work. Wayne was devoted to watching the news and was passionate in talking about current events. He enjoyed being outside, he was a self-taught “fix it” man and he found great pleasure in showing his grandson how to do stuff. Survivors include his wife, the former Linda Marie Christian, to whom he was married on November 6, 1966; a son, Bradley Wayne Cochran, Rome; a daughter, Casie Cochran Ramey (John), Calhoun; two grandchildren, Sarah Kate Cochran, Jacksonville, AL, Seth Langley, Calhoun; sister, Gail Neal (Douglas), Coosa; two step-sisters, Viola Hester and Lucy Meacham, both of Lithia Springs; step-brother, Ron King (Judy), Gulf Shores, AL; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 4:00 PM, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Mr. Michael Duvall and Mr. Bradley W. Cochran officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday at the Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, from 3:00 PM until the service time.
