DELORIS’ Obituary Deloris Irene Lister, affectionately called “Lori” was born to Mary Jane and Earl Thompson in Houston, Texas on March 31, 1940 and attended public schools there. She was employed by World Courier, Standard Parking and Enterprise Rental for many years. Lori had a vibrant personality and loved interacting with co-workers each day. She gave them advice and lifted them up when they felt down or discouraged. As a breast cancer survivor, she was able to reach many people with her stories of inspiration and faith. She was so instrumental in helping patients, that their families would bring her gifts, acknowledging her with kind words, letting her know that their journey would not have been as easy without her encouragement. The foundation instilled by her mother and grandmother kept her deeply rooted in the word of God. She was a faithful member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James Hicks. She was preparing for Sunday church service when God whispered, come home. On Sunday, June 23, 2019 God quietly lifted Deloris from heavy labor, to heavenly reward. She was proceeded in death by her parents Mary West, Earl Thompson, Sisters, Beverly J. Gray, Mary C. Harris, Shirley R. Gray, Brothers Billy R. West, Elbert M. West Jr., and Elder Joseph West, Sr. her beloved niece Amber D. Shelton, and nephew Le’Andre M. Hunter. She will continue to be loved and remembered by her husband of over 60 years, George L. Lister, children Verelyn M. Lenton-Belin [Raymond], Lynette J. Lister, Tyressa M. Lister, Dorothy J. Reddix,[Ricky], Grandchildren: Anthony, Brandice, Brandon, [Kathleen], Chantise[Teddy], Chamaiya, Freddrea, Destinee, Akeria, Zoie, Chasiti, Chynna, Brittney, Cydney Great-Grandchildren: Chelsea, Dasia, Roxie, Torian, Keja, Brayden, Braxton, Akiyah, Chyah, Tiyah, Khoriyah, Teddie Jr. Niklaus, Robyn, George V, great-great grandchildren: Jaycee, Dey’sean, Zakiya, and Christopher.
