Agnes’ Obituary Agnes Marie Kelley, 100 Hudson, NH-Agnes Marie (Stimpson) Kelley, 100, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2019 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson NH. Agnes was born in Charlestown MA on May 17, 1919 the youngest of five children to the late Roscoe and Bertha (Regan) Stimpson. Agnes’ father was the owner operator of B. Stimpson and Sons Movers of Charlestown, MA, still in business today for over 100 years run by the fourth generation of movers. She was a graduate of Charlestown High School and a former parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. She worked for Railway Express, Schrafft’s and New England Telephone Company. Agnes and her family enjoyed their summer home in Wilmington, MA for over twenty years before retiring and moving to NH. Always non-stop she began a career in nursing and worked at Franklin Regional Hospital where she received her ten year pin. She had a cherished pet, a beloved miniature Siamese cat named ChiChi, who lived for over 20 years. After her husband passed, Agnes relocated to Nashua, NH where she began the second half of her lifespan and frequently attended Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church. Agnes was a lively and high spirited woman who took pride in her Irish heritage and was very social with boundless energy. Her phrase in life was “why rest now, I can rest long enough when I’m dead and gone”. She was an avid dancer and aptly named “The Dancing Queen” by her family. She enjoyed spending her Friday nights with so many great friends at The Lafayette in Nashua. She was a member of the Hudson Seniors, Elks Club of Nashua and American Legion of Milford. She continuously stayed active by donating hundreds of hours as a volunteer for Home Health and Hospice Program of Nashua and dedicated two years of service as a Senior Companion. She loved to travel and relished a trip to County Cork Ireland to visit the birthplace of her family. Being a motorcycle enthusiast, at 78 years old she had the opportunity to ride as a passenger cross- country from Los Angeles to Nashua via motorcycle. One of her greatest joys later in life, was spending time with her granddaughter Darla who held a special place in her heart. Agnes is survived by her daughter, Dona Kelley-Lopez and husband Raimundo “Tony” and their daughter Darla of Lunenburg, MA; and her daughter-in-law Claire A. Kelley of Derry, NH. Agnes was a fifth generation family member several times over, she also leaves behind four generations of grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph T. Kelley Sr. 1988; two sons, John M. Kelley 2007 and Joseph T. Kelley Jr. 2014 and daughter, Diane M. McLaughlin 2014. The family would like to thank and acknowledge Fairview Nursing Home of Hudson NH for their generosity of care and concern. Special thanks to all the wonderful staff in all departments on 2nd floor east where she was treated like family. We cannot thank you enough.
