Winona Boyd Powers September 14, 1930 – April 13, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Winona Boyd Powers, age 88, was born September 14, 1930 and died April 13, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness. Retired from Genesco and a member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Arzie and Josie Maxwell Boyd. She was married to Albert Clinton Powers, Jr. who preceded her in death on April 17, 1999. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, Richard Allen Killian; two brothers, Charles Boyd and Dwain Boyd; and three sisters, Dorothy Miller, Wilma Spain and Bonita Markum. She is survived by daughter, Wanda Gail Powell of McMinnville; special niece, Joan Underhill of Salt Lake City, UT; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Powers of Rock Island, TN and Susie and Charles Sparkman of McMinnville; special friend, Bernice Jones of McMinnville; several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Sandy White and Applelonia Frame; and a special “Thank You” to Avalon Hospice. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Smyrna Cemetery with Hugh Hillis officiating. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery. There will be no visitation of service at High’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or Central Church of Christ.
