Vanita Lee Crites, 54, of Jackson, Missouri died Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at her home surrounded by family. She was born July 14, 1964 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Earl Herman Crites Jr. and Naomi Lee Crites. She attended Jackson High School. She received an Associate’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University. Survivors include her daughter, Stevie Cortez of Jackson, Missouri; two sons, Elijah (Lisa) Cortez and Austin Cortez both of Jackson, Missouri; one brother; four sisters; seven grandchildren, Malorie, Brooklyn, Madden, Macee, and Manning Cortez, Nevaeh and Cash Lucious; niece, Audrey (James) Kennedy and sons from Patton, Missouri; and a cousin, Geri Reid of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Jason Shaw officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
