Mr. Tommie Wilburn Lambert Mr. Tommie Wilburn Lambert, 87, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. Born and raised in Fort Mill, Mr. Lambert was the last surviving child of the late Bruce Cornelius Lambert and Bertha Beatrice Roof Lambert. He was a graduate of Fort Mill High School and worked for Springs Mills starting at the age of 15. His 50+ year career with Springs ended with his retirement when the mill was shutting down in the 1990’s. He was a supervisor in the Spinning Department. Mr. Lambert was twice widowed, first by the mother of his children, Madeline Willis Lambert and later by Christine Gamble Lambert. Mr. Lambert was a long-time member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church and the men’s Sunday school class. He was a dedicated fan of the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Braves. Surviving are his son, Robert “Bob” Wayne Lambert and his wife, Jan of Rock Hill; his daughters, Beverly Lambert Kolibabek and her husband Gene of Rock Hill and Debra Lynn Wilson and her husband Norman of Fort Mill; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Williard and Wayne Lambert, a sister, Rachel Levonne Guin, and an infant son. Memorials may be made to Sisk Memorial Baptist Church, 115 Massey Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
