RIO GRANDE CITY – SILVIA SALINAS DE RAMIREZ, 63, DIED ON SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2019 AT THE COMFORT HOUSE IN MCALLEN, TX. SANCHEZ FUNERAL HOME OF RIO GRANDE CITY WILL BE IN CHARGE OF HER FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS. Mrs. Silvia Salinas de Ramirez, 63, of Rio Grande City, TX., passed away Saturday evening, April 27, 2019, at the Comfort House in McAllen, TX. She was born April 29, 1955, in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, the daughter of the late Jesus Salinas and Felipa Garcia de Salinas. Silvia was preceded in death by her sister, Leonila Salinas, her parents Felipa Garcia de Salinas and Jesus Salinas. She was retired from RGCCISD where she served as head custodian at General Ricardo Sanchez for many years. She took great pride in having the cleanest school in the district. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and spending time with her family. She was an extraordinary wife, a dedicated mother, a loving aunt, a supportive sister and a proud grandmother. Silvia is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jose Antonio Ramirez. She is also survived by her daughter Priscilla Lumbreras, son-in-law, Dr. Ricardo Lumbreras and their three children-Amariz, Santiago and Paola all of Granbury, TX. Silvia is also survived by her son Jose Antonio Ramirez Jr and daughter-in-law Bridgette Ramirez all of Rio Grande City, TX., as well as numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Silvia’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2019, at Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City, TX. Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Rio Grande City on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Methodist Cemetery in Rio Grande City, TX. Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance and to the compassionate staff at Comfort House in McAllen who provided invaluable care to her during the last few weeks of her life.
