Obituary of Shirley J. Covey Shirley J. Covey Shirley J. Covey, 80, of 743 Falconer St., Jamestown, formerly of Falconer passed away Tuesday (April 16, 2019) in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident she was born March 31, 1939 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Paul V. and Julia Love Covey. Shirley was a graduate of Falconer High School and Jamestown Business College. In earlier years she was employed by the GA Children’s Home. Prior to retirement she was employed by the Chautauqua County Highway Department. Shirley enjoyed traveling, having traveled to Australia and Hawaii, bowling, bingo, going to the casino, crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting and attending family get-togethers. She is survived by an Aunt Mary Love and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Paul V. Covey on May 4, 2002 and her mother Julia Love Covey on September 4, 1994. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Pastor Jennifer Delahoy of Kennedy United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be donated to the American Heart Association, 2 S Clinton St #305, Syracuse, NY 13202.
