She was a native of Caswell County, NC but made her home in New York for most of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mac and Ada McCain Hamlett and two brothers, Robert and Thomas Hamlett. She is survived by one sister, Rosa Carrington (Albert) of Milton, NC; two brothers: James Cunningham (Diane) of Danville, VA and Willie Cunningham (Barbara) of Washington, D.C.; her beloved Lizzie M. Scott (Jimmie) of Milton, NC; and a host of other additional relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, 4320 Yarbrough Mill Road in Milton, NC. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later.
