Sharon’s Obituary SHEER, Sharon G., “Sherry”, age 71 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Grandview Hospital. She was born October 4, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to Charles H. & Mary J. (Crider) Barton. Sherry is survived by her parents, her loving husband of 48 years, Don Sheer; children, Krista Wagner (Brad) and Kyle Sheer (Sarah); grandchildren, Keira, Hudson and Kennedy; her brother, Charles H. Barton, Jr.; brother-in-law, Charles M. Sheer (Carol); along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sherry loved her job with Wright Patterson Air Force Base, but ultimately sacrificed her position to raise and support her children. She also loved working at the Bradford Public Library where she enjoyed reading to the classes that would visit. She loved her family unconditionally and made sure everyone knew it. Sherry was definitely at her happiest when spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going out for meals with Don, family and friends, sitting in the sunshine and eating desserts for every meal! She loved spending time at her parent’s home in Echo Point on Lake Cumberland and being on the water boating there as well as in the Florida Keys. She loved watching sports, especially her children and grandchildren play, watching college basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. She was also a member of the St. Christopher Catholic Church. Sherry will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 2, 2019 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Rev. Fr. John Tonkin officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Christopher Center for Children in Sherry’s memory. Read More
