Scotty M. Shannon 75 of Marion died peacefully Saturday April 27, 2019 at his home. He was born March 3, 1944 at Maysville, Kentucky to the late Alexander and Earsie (Kinder) Shannon. On June 19, 1965 Scotty married the love of his life Donna L. Wright in Marion, Indiana they spend 54 years together. Scotty retired in 2000 from GenCorp after 42 years of service. He was a member of Sunnycrest Baptist Church, Marion, Indiana, he sang in the church choir. He loved baseball and loved to watch his children and grandchildren play ball, he used to coach little league. He enjoyed going to car races with his son Scotty and WWE wrestling with his son Brian. He was a patriotic man. He is survived by his wife, and sons; Scotty Wayne (Wendy) Shannon, Marion and Brian Shannon of Greenwood, IN brother; Mike Shannon, Marion, and sister-in-law; Liz Wright, Marion. Grandchildren; Ashley (Nelson) Woods, Marion Anessa (Cortney) Hammond, Marion, Devon Sheward, Marion. Great-Grandchildren; Trenton, Brayton, Jackson, Maverick, and Kourtney. He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law; Fred and Nettie Wright, brothers-in-law, Frank and John Wright. Funeral services for Scotty will be Wednesday May 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Sunnycrest Baptist Church 2172 W Chapel Pike, Marion, IN with Jeff Timmons officiating. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
