Roy Francis, 86, of Johnson City went home to be with the Lord at his home surrounded by his family Thursday April 18, 2019. Roy was born to the late George and Mae Francis in Buladean North Carolina. He was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church in Johnson City. Roy served his Country in Untied States Army and retired from CSX Railroad. He was a loving husband, father, very proud grandfather of his grandson Travis Honeycutt and precious great-granddaughter McKinley Honeycutt. Roy was also a great friend to all those who knew him. In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by his brothers; Earnest and Leonard, and Sherrill Francis, sisters; Pauline Shell and Irene Francis, Roy is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Lorene Francis, daughters; Melanie O’Harrow of Elizabethton, Angela (Tom) Shelton of Johnson City, sisters; Betty (Glen) Price, Connie Lee (Sherrill) Tipton of Jonesborough, brother; Kenneth (Shirley) Francis, sister-in-law Pauline Francis, grandson; Travis (Brandy) Honeycutt, great-granddaughter; McKinley Honeycutt. The family will gather to greet friends and share memories from 5pm-7pm Friday April 19, 2019 at Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City. A Funeral Service to honor Roy’s life will follow beginning at 7pm with Rev. Curtis Hurt officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens Saturday April 20, 2019 beginning at 11am. Those serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Francis, Travis Honeycutt, Tom Shelton, Ronnie Shell, Troy Garland, and Roger Garland. Honorary pallbearers will be Denver King, Wayne Brinkley, Dennis Francis, and Gary Shell.
