Robert P. Mounts, 75, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois passed away Thursday, April 04, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 31, 1943 the son of Paul and Helen (Brown) Mounts in Princeton, Indiana. Bob married Evelyn Chapman on April 2, 1965 at the First Christian Church in Mt. Carmel. They had just celebrated 54 years together. Bob was a member of First Christian Church of Mt. Carmel. He was a farmer for thirty-nine years and a Pioneer seed salesman for twenty-four years. He enjoyed fishing; rabbit and squirrel hunting, and playing cards. He loved everything about farming; he was proud to be a farmer through and through. He was a member of the Wabash County Quail Club. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Evelyn; son, Tim (Ken Humphries) Mounts of Decatur, Georgia; and friends and honorary pallbearers, Frank Krug, John Haase, Tim Chamberlain, and Mason Kennard. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald L. Mounts. There will be a Graveside Service to celebrate Bob’s life on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel with Randy Snelling presiding. Memorials to honor Bob’s life can be made to Wabash Valley Shrine designated for the Shriners Hospital for Children. Envelopes will be available at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home and at the cemetery.
