Robert’s Obituary Date Line: Williamston NC Robert Dale Swisher, Sr., 79 of 2291 Garrett Rd. died Thursday, April 4, 2019 at his home. Mr. Swisher was born on October 24, 1939 in Akron, Ohio to the late Dale Elsworth and Lucille Givens Swisher. He was an automotive instructor at Martin Community College and a US Marine Corp veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Whipkey Swisher, son Robert Dale Swisher, Jr., and brothers Troy and Herbie Swisher. Survivors include; sons, David Swisher (Elaine) of Windsor and Joshua Swisher of Williamston; daughters, Cheryl Ellis of Windsor and Rebecca Adams (Craig) of Williamston; brothers, Jimmy Wonn of IL and Jimmy Wonn of OH; sisters Carol McMillian of WI and Sharron Woodward of VA; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Edgewood Cemetery with Rev. Ray Faircloth, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home in Windsor, and other times at 1706 Wakelon Rd. Windsor, NC.
