Ricky “Rick”‘s Obituary Ricky “Rick” Lee Moore, 67, a resident of the Gaston, OR community passed away on April 24, 2019 at his home. Rick was born on June 28, 1951 in Oskaloosa, IA. He was the oldest of six children born to Robert “Bobby” Moore and Phyllis (Molyneux) Fowler and step father Dale Fowler. Rick was raised in Delta, IA and received his education in Iowa until 1969 when his family moved to Sherwood, OR. He met his future wife, Janice M. Rickman, while playing pool in Sherwood. They soon began dating and following a two and a half year courtship they married on December 16, 1983 in Hillsboro, OR. They made their home in Sherwood and then a short time in Portland before buying their Gaston property in 1993. Rick worked in construction all of his life, mainly as a dump truck driver and as a heavy equipment operator. At one time he was owner operator of Rick Moore Excavating and Rick Moore Trucking, as well as co-owner of D. Seeberger Underground Utilities. Recently Rick was driving dump truck for Parker Concrete in Forest Grove, OR. Rick enjoyed target shooting, camping, horseback riding, and wagon driving in the mountains and forests of Oregon. He also liked spending time working on their property in Gaston, doing mechanical work on his vehicles, and watching the wildlife roam the property. Rick enjoyed celebrating holidays and spending time with family. He is preceded in death by his father; Bobby Moore, his step sister; Bonnie Turner, his great grandson; Jaxson Dodson, and his step father; Dale Fowler. He is survived by his loving wife; Janice, four children and their spouses; Angie and Jeff Groshong of Ottumwa, IA, Andrew Moore and his fiancé Ashley Norvald of Cornelius, OR, Alicia Moore and her companion Nick Freund of Vancouver, WA, Quinton Moore of Eugene, OR and his companion Aubrey Jarvis of Yamhill, OR, Rick’s mother; Phyllis Fowler of Ottumwa, IA, four siblings and their spouses; Rhonda and Ron Hill, Merrill Moore, Michelle and Charlie Jordan, Ed and Mary Fowler, three grandchildren and their spouse; Cynthia and Nick Merulla, Nolan Freund, and Grace Moore due to arrive in June, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins in Oregon and Iowa.
