Richard’s Obituary Richard W. Courtney (Dawg) age 67, passed away at UT Medical Center on April 17, 2019 after years of failing health; he was surrounded by several loved ones. Preceded in death by his father, Turner Courtney; stepmother, Nancy; nephew, Clifton Hendrix. Survived in death by his wife, Jo Ann Courtney. Other loved ones include sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Phil McManus; special nieces, Kimberly and Courtney; son, Richard Courtney Jr.; granddaughters, Kyndra and Turner; great-grandson, Rhett; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jeff Wichael; grandsons, Drew and Matt; mother-in-law, Barbara Sneed; sister-in-law, Kathy; several nieces and nephews. Richard was born on December 20, 1951. He moved to Maryville in 1971; shortly after moving he began his 41year career at Alcoa Aluminum Company. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home. Funeral service 7:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. David Choate officiating.
