CHAMPAIGN — Regina Marie Schumacher, 92, of Champaign, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019. She was born on May 23, 1926, in Ivesdale, Ill., the daughter of Julia and Joseph Cain. She married Donald Joseph Schumacher on July 20, 1948. Regina devoted her life to the wellbeing of her children and grandchildren and to the development of the family farm. She and Don were part of the post-WWII cohort around Ivesdale and Colfax Townships who worked together to create opportunities for their children and their communities. We will always be grateful to them. Surviving are children Donna, Julia, Sharon, Beth, Paul, Mark, Bill, Ann, Joe and Tom; sisters Joan Marzullo, Mary Pat Cain, Rita Cain and Sheila Butler; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Paul, John and Carroll; sisters May Loomis, Myrtle Strickland, Catherine Krupa and Patricia Jackson. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3rd, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1303 Lincolnshire Drive, Champaign, IL 61821.
