LeBrun age 86 of Luverne, MN, formerly of Lismore, MN, died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 AM Monday, August 20, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lismore, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday, August 19, 2018, also at the church in Lismore, with a rosary at 5:00 PM and a prayer service at 7:00 PM. The visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Lismore with a luncheon served in the church social hall immediately after the burial. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, all memorials be given in remembrance of Ray to either the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, MN or the St. Anthony’s Knights of Columbus. The Adrian Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Raymond P. LeBrun was born December 9, 1931 to Peter and Mary (Recker) LeBrun in Lismore Township. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School in Lismore, MN. As a young man he was drafted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, serving in the artillery from September of 1952 until he received his honorable discharge in September of 1954. After his military service he returned to the family farm near Lismore. On January 9, 1956 Ray married Bette Suedkamp at St. Adrian’s Catholic Church in Adrian, MN. They made their home on a farm south of Lismore and continued living there until his retirement in 2006, when they moved into Lismore. They also wintered for 13 years in Harlingen, TX, where they made many new friends. Family, faith and community were all very important to Ray. He was a life-long member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lismore and served on the Parish Council. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lismore American Legion. Ray served on the Adrian Co-op Board, and the Lismore Telephone Board. He loved spending time with his family, and also enjoyed going fishing, camping and traveling. He and Bette moved into the Poplar Creek Assisted Living in 2013 and Ray became a resident of the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Luverne, MN in December of 2017, where he died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the age of 86. Raymond is survived by his wife, Bette LeBrun of Luverne, MN; five sons, Steve (Cheri) LeBrun of Lafayette, MN, Martin (Josie) LeBrun of Adrian, MN, Jack (Lee Ann) LeBrun of Sioux Falls, SD, Bill (Patty) LeBrun of Reading, MN and Jim (Anne) LeBrun of Adrian, MN; sixteen grandchildren, Kyle (Tina), Brett, Troy, Wendy, Sam (Mindy), Emily, Niki (Jed Seifert), Dustin (Elise), Dillon, Lance (Emily) Dorschner, Lauren (Jacob), Miranda, Morgan, Tyler (Anna), Alex, and Brandon (Kaylee) LeBrun; sixteen great grandchildren, Wyatt, Ellie, Gracelyn, Sarah, Colton, Regan, Rory, Benson, Audrey, Amelia, Darwin, Everett, Madisyn, Alexis, Raymond and Vernon LeBrun; one brother, Bob (Jamie) LeBrun of Lismore, MN; one brother-in-law, Andrew Scheffler of Adrian, MN; five sisters-in-law, Joan Johnson of Magnolia, MN, Mary (Duane) Eich of Farmington, MN, Rose (Alan) Pedersen of Walnut Grove, MN, Marlene (Don) Graham of Richardson, TX and Bev Suedkamp of Gillette, WY; many nieces, nephews and friends. His daughter, Catherine, his parents, Peter and Mary LeBrun, one sister, JoAnn Scheffler, and three brothers-in-law, Floyd Johnson, Ernest and William (Jocelyn) Suedkamp preceded him in death.
