Paul W. Hartman, age 80 of Batesville, died Saturday, April 20, 2019. Born August 23, 1938 in Ripley County Indiana, he is the son of Anna (Nee: Kleine) and William Hartman. He married Evelyn Walterman February 24, 1968 at St. Louis Church in Batesville and she preceded him in death April 19, 2005. Paul was a contractor for 40 years, building houses in the tri-state as well as Pennsylvania. He loved spending time with his grandsons and traveling. He’s taken numerous trips, cruises and bus tours, getting to see 11 different countries in all. Paul is survived by his daughter Melanie Hartwell of Batesville; stepson Gary Nobbe of Greensburg; sisters Stella Wulfeck of Edgewood, Kentucky, Irene McCann of Sharonville, Ohio; grandsons Carson and Grant Hartwell and the love of his life the last ten years, Betty Macke of Batesville. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also preceded in death by stepsons Dennis and Jim Nobbe; sisters Sr. Mary Clare Hartman, Cecilia Bauer, Irma Lother, Beatrice Royce and brother Alvadore Hartman. Visitation is Thursday, April 25th, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, April 26th at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating and burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Paul Hartman Trades Scholarship or Phi Beta Psi Soups and Sips.
