Patsy Kay Bourne Frizzell January 1 1939 April 26 2019

Patsy Bourne Frizzell, 80, of Bristol, TN, went to be with her Heavenly Father on the evening of April 26, 2019, while surrounded by her family. She was a victim of pancreatic cancer. Patsy was born in Columbia, Mississippi on January 1, 1939. She was the youngest of two children born to William C. Bourne and Mary Cox Bourne. She studied fashion design and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1961, receiving the national honor of interning at Mademoiselle Magazine for their fall college edition. After graduating from W.U., Nickels Manufacturing Co., a ladies clothing firm in Bristol, TN, recruited Patsy for their design department. Patsy has been an important part of Frizzell Construction Co. since the early 1960’s serving as the Design Manager and Corporate Secretary. In addition to her work, Patsy demonstrated additional talents including acrobatics, ballet, piano, flute, tennis, and organic gardening. Most important to Patsy were peoples’ relationships to God and each other. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church Bristol and also active in the ministry at Highlands Juvenile Detention Center. The Community Bible Study is an organization she supported. She was most occupied with loving and caring for her family at which she excelled for their benefit. Patsy is survived by her beloved husband, Benjamin M. Frizzell Jr. of Bristol, TN, whom she married in 1963; her son, Benjamin (Charity) M. Frizzell III of Chattanooga, TN; and her daughter, Joy (Steve) Frizzell Gross Mullins of Bristol, TN. She especially loved her nine grandchildren, Aaron Frizzell of Chattanooga, TN; Hannah (Quinton) Braxton of Chattanooga, TN; Rebekah (Kevin) Leiva of Pigeon Forge, TN; Abby Frizzell of Chicago, IL; Caleb (Dekodha) Gross of Elizabethton, TN; Sari Frizzell of Lawrenceburg, IN; Amy Gross of Knoxville, TN; Oliver Frizzell of Chattanooga, TN; and Henry Frizzell of Chattanooga, TN. Patsy is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Johnson of East Lansing, MI, and her sister-in-law, Patty Ann Brooks of Charlotte, NC. No doubt Patsy would want to mention all the relatives existing on both sides of the family as well as all the friends she made at work and elsewhere.
