Norma, age 73, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was a native of Independence, LA and a resident of Tickfaw, LA. Norma worked for Tangi Industrial as their bookkeeper for 31 years. She was a passionately devoted member of Natalbany Baptist Church and could be found at every Sunday service. Norma enjoyed doing marathons, gardening and attending as many church functions as she could. Her true passion was her family and she took great pride in raising her 3 wonderful children. Norma was truly a selfless woman who loved deeply and is already so very missed. Norma is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Strate Sr.; daughter, April Kay Strate Collins (Paul); son, Donald Ray Strate Jr. (Cathy); sisters, Ruth Tobias, Betty Begazo, Judy Morgan; brother, Herman Morgan; grandchildren, Christy Kay Hoyt, Jonathon Hoyt, Jarod Strate, Ian Strate; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Hoyt, Brooklynn Hoyt, and Cambry Hoyt. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Rae Strate; mother, Vida Cunard; father, Sammual Morgan; and sister, Betty Begazo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Natalbany Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Danny Carter will officiate and interment will follow in Parklawn Cemetery.
