Nancy Kate Vincill Cross, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born January 20, 1932 to Everett Vincill and Ruby Katherine Miller Vincill in Clinchco, VA. Nancy retired from the Bristol TN City School System at Avoca Elementary as a Teacher’s Assistant after 30 years at the age of 71. She was a member of Anderson Street United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Vincill Winfield and husband, Bill, Nina Vincill Bazemore and husband, Russell, Mable Vincill, Dorothy Vincill Moore and husband, Charles, Mary Alice Vincill; three nephews, Christopher Moore, Mike Moore, Jamey Wright; niece, Tracy Wright. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James E “Gene” Cross; daughter, Andrea Cross Gates and husband, Dell; sisters, Betty Wright and husband, Jimmy, Linda Vincill Thayer; brothers, James “Jim” Vincill and wife, Rachel, Doug Vincill, Danny Vincill and wife, Marlene, Jerry Vincill and wife, Barbara; several beloved nieces and nephews; much beloved granddaughter Danielle Garland and husband, Ben; great-granddaughters. Alissa Desjardins, Addison Desjardins and Amelia Garland. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 pm Monday, April 22, 2019 at Anderson Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Griffith officiating. Music will be provided by Dr. Phillip Wright, Charlie Lawson and the Anderson Street United Methodist Church Choir. The committal and interment will be at 11 am Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Garland, David Wright, Greg Vincill, Robbie Vincill, T.J. Vincill, Sam Vincill, Tim Vincill, Chris Miller and Jordan Blevins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. & Mrs. Nelson Pyle and Sue Blevins. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm prior to the service.
