Michelle’s Obituary It is with heavy hearts that the Bennis family is sharing the passing of their youngest member, Michelle A. Bennis, who passed on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the age of 54 years. Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 30 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls, with burial at Hills of Rest Cemetery. Visitation begins at 5:00 PM Monday, April 29 at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Michelle Ann Bennis, daughter of Robert J. Bennis and Eva M. (McManness) Bennis, was born August 22, 1974 in Sioux Falls, SD, joining her siblings Charles, John “Jack”, Diane, Linda and Susan. Michelle attended Beadle School and then Sioux Vocational School, now known as Lifescape. She was proud to have her own apartment at Beadle Apartments. She later moved to Hollister House. Michelle was a social butterfly and loved people. She left a positive impression on everyone she met, spreading happiness and enthusiasm. She loved convertible rides with her “cool nephew” Charlie, Special Olympics, swimming, dancing, birthdays and wintering in Florida. Most of all, she loved interacting with people, especially her family. Survivors include her brother, Charles Bennis and his wife, Joanne, Brandon, SD; her sister, Susan Holechek and her husband, Jim, Owings Mills, MD; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Bennis, Sioux Falls, SD. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Jeff, Jackie (Gerald Putzier), Jolene, (Matt Dimitroff), Teri, Anja, Charlie (Larissa), Heidi (Scott Oreschnick), Jodi and Drew; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaia, Solei, Avery, Julian, Evan, Connor and Angelo; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many other relatives and friends. Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Eva; her brother, Jack; and two sisters, Linda Bennis and Diane Souza.
