Mary Elizabeth Jones, 92, of Anderson passed away peacefully surrounded by family April 15, 2019. She was born on March 11, 1927 in Cicero, Indiana, later moving to Kokomo where she was a proud graduate of Kokomo High School and attended all of her class reunions. She previously worked as a payroll clerk for Continental Steel in Kokomo, Indiana Employment Office and Canteen Vending Service in Anderson. Mary volunteered many hours supporting her children’s various school, church, and social activities as well as fundraising for local charities. Mary was a member of New Horizons United Methodist Church. She was known as the “Nutty Pickle Lady” and “Sarge” as she organized several fundraising activities for the church. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women throughout her life. Many lifelong friendships were created at all three churches to include Main Street Methodist of Kokomo and Noble Street Methodist of Anderson. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Roy Samuel “Sam” Jones, children, Susan Jones (James Larry Arms), Jeffrey Jones (fiancee, Susan Adkins and son, Jacob); grandchildren, Ryan (Erin) Jones, Matthew (Katie) Jones; great-grandchildren, Harley Bertram, Grahm Bertram, Tessa Jones; step-grandchildren, Brian Arms, Devin (Marisa) Arms, Michelle (Adrian) Snyder, step-great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Ava Arms, Evelyn Rae Arms, Emma and Mason Snyder, beloved brother-in-law, Paul Jones, sisters-in-law, Helen Aaron (Jack), Rosie Jones and Betty Jones and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Maxine, Herschel, Robert, Orval “Bud”, and Roy. Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2019, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street Anderson, IN followed by a Celebration of Life Service at1:00 pm with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial will take place in the Cicero Cemetery, Cicero.
