Ernst, 88, of Perryville died April 17, 2019 at Independence Care Center of Perry County, MO. She was born June 4, 1930 in Apple Creek, MO, daughter of John and Barbara (Buchheit) Wibbenmeyer. She married Arnold William Ernst on May 21, 1949. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2005. Margaret was a home maker. She was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle. She loved baking especially making beautiful wedding and birthday cakes for many people. She gave sewing lessons and taught cake decorating to many 4-H members. Survivors include two daughters and two sons, Cathy (Joel) Beck of St. Louis, Larry (Jeannie) Ernst of Biehle, Ron (Laura) Ernst of Lake St. Louis, Denise Jones of Affton and one daughter-in-law, Dee Ernst of Perryville, seventeen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Michael Ernst, four brothers, Virgil, Leonard, Norbert and Joseph Wibbenmeyer and four sisters, Mary Granger, Juletta Uhl, Rita Wahl and Lucille Boschert. Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Monday, April 22 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, April 23 from 6:30 – 9:30 am with rosary at 8:30 am. She will then be taken to St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle for Mass at 10:00 am with Rev. Jim French officiating. Burial in the Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle. Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements.
