Marcella Anne Norman July 10, 1924 – April 11, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Lifelong Newberry resident, Marcella Anne Norman, 94, died Thursday morning Apirl 11, 2019 at Newberry Assisted Living Community with her loving family at her side. Born July 10, 1924 in Newberry, daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Bernard) Villemure, Marcella was a 1942 graduate of Newberry High School. On September 28, 1946, she married Arnold Norman and made Newberry their home raising three daughters. Marcella was formerly employed with Michigan Bell, Stratton Dry Cleaners and the Newberry Regional Mental Health Center as an Attendant Nurse for 17 years until her retirement. Marcella was a lifelong active member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church serving on various committees. Her love for God, church, family and friends was a true example of her faith living her life as stated in the book of Matthew 22:37-39 which says “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” In addition to her parents, Marcella is preceded in death by her husband Arnold on August 21, 1999; siblings Evar (Ninabelle) Villemure, Robert (Dorothy) Villemure, Terese (Jack) Thomson, Phyllis (Peter) Rahilly, Phil (Mary) Villemure, Charles Villemure; Paul James Villemure; brother-in-law’s Art Pigeon and Alex (Laura) Norman; sister-in-law’s Evelyn (Harold) Stewart and Edith (John) Artibee. Survivors include her daughters Pat Norman of Newberry, Lois (Pat) Abram of Germfask and Susie (Ted) Nutkins of Newberry; grandchildren Norm (Patty) Abram, Edward (Kristi) Abram, Charles (Renee) Abram, Megan (Gregg) Franckowiak, Dr. Christie Nutkins, Sara (Larry) Nicholson, John (Michelle) Nutkins and Molly (Dr. Christopher) Redker, 14 great-grandchildren; siblings Joe (Carol) Villemure of Newberry, Matthew (Betty) Villemure of Chelsea, Peter (Natalie) Villemure of Newberry, Sr. Paul James Villemure of Adrian, Irene Pigeon of Newberry and Tom (Ann) Villemure of Hudsonville; special nephews Peter (Lori) Rahilly and John (Nicole) Thomson in addition to several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Friends may call at the Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry on Tuesday April 16, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday April 17, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church with Fr. Marty officiating. Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Gregory’s Catholic Church or to the 7th Grade Camp in care of Tahquamenon Area Schools, 700 Newberry Ave., Newberry, MI 49868 in her memory.
