Lowell B. Chesnut, age 82, of London, KY passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Heritage Nursing Home in Corbin, KY. He leaves behind a sister, Georgia Chandler & husband Marvin of London, KY, plus a host of family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, George I. Chesnut and Mae George Chesnut; two siblings, Charles Chesnut and Dora Ann Chesnut. Lowell was a retired school teacher having taught for 40 years in Laurel County. He was a beloved member of Macedonia Methodist Church for 66 years, where he served as treasurer for many years. He also served as the United Methodist Men’s Treasurer at the local, district and state level. He was a 4-H leader for 40 years and also a member of the Kiwanis Club. Funeral services for Lowell B. Chesnut will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Donald Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Chesnut Cemetery in London, KY. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Macedonia United Methodist Church, 2261 McWhorter Rd., London, KY 40741.
