Lora Lynn Thompson October 01, 1960 – April 16, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Lora Lynn Thompson, 58, of Thorntown, passed away Apr. 16, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Lora was born Oct. 1, 1960, in Lebanon, a daughter of James and Marilyn (Barton) Sheets. She married Gregory Thompson 40 years ago on June 23, 1978. He survives. Lora graduated from Lebanon High School in 1979. She worked in administration at the Western Boone School Corporation for several years. Lora served as the Sugar Creek Township Trustee for 18 years and was always active in the Thorntown community. Her family was special to her and she loved her grandkids very much. Lora also loved animals, especially pigs and she enjoyed spending time at Raccoon Lake. Survivors include her husband, Greg Thompson of Thorntown; mother, Marilyn Sheets of Thorntown; father, James Sheets of Arkansas; son, Jon (Chelsi) Thompson of Thorntown; daughter, Casey (Phillip) Prunier of Lebanon; brother, Larry (Sandi) Sheets of North Salem; sister, Lana Fairfield of Thorntown; grandchildren, Zayne and Nathan Thompson; nieces and nephews, M.J. (Sara) Fairfield, Sheila Sheets, Chris Sheets, Heather (Bob) Hale, Charity Almodavar, Derek Caldwell, Evan (Mandy) Caldwell, Melissa Beeson, Jason (Kristie) Thompson, and Michelle Thompson; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Bren) Thompson of New Ross and Gerry (Vickie) Thompson of Russellville; sister-in-law, Sallie (Ted) Caldwell of Lebanon; and lots of great nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather Fri., Apr. 19, 2019, for visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and funeral services will be held on Sat., Apr. 20, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Glen Jewell officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Lora will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
