Leonard Albert Ankrom, 73, of Markleysburg, PA, died Friday, April 12, 2019, at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown, PA. Born July 7, 1945, in West Waynesburg, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas Albert and Betty (Ward) Ankrom. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ed and one sister, Sue. Mr. Ankrom was owner and operator for Ankrom’s Carpet and Remodeling for over 40 years and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a hard worker, who loved antiques and mountain dew and was a member of Turney-Riley Post 7250, V.F.W., Confluence, PA. He is survived by one son, William (Tammy) Ankrom, Fort Hill, PA; two daughters, Rebecca (Douglas) Fike, Somerset, PA; Sarah (Jonathon) Ankrom, Markleysburg, PA; four brothers, Wayne, Robert, Charles and Richard; four sisters, Sandy, Maxine, Donise and Brenda; three grandchildren, Kyle (Caitlyn) Fisher, Morgan and Thomas Fisher; one great-granddaughter, Mia Fisher. A committal service will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg, PA. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, is in charge of cremation arrangements.
