Lawrence’s Obituary Lawrence Smith was born on November 1, 1937 in Bert, Kentucky; the son of the late Robert Smith and Daisy Hammons Smith. He was united in marriage to Betty Jean Madden Smith who preceded him in death. He was survived by six children, Barbara Root and husband Verrell, Eddie Smith and wife Carolyn, Loretta Smith, Brenda Harris and husband Mark all of London; Billie Ann Smith and Rosetta Smith both of East Bernstadt; six siblings, Estill Smith, Leroy Smith, Gary Wayne Smith, Verlois Bowling, Ethel Pearl Richardson all of London and Carolyn Caldwell of Bledsoe, Kentucky; 2 grandchildren, and 1 very special great grandson; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Besides his parents and wife he is also preceded in death by five brothers, Sherman, Charles, Ray, Glen and Delbert Dewey Smith; two sisters, Verlie Burnett and Willa Dean Sizemore and by several nieces and nephews. Lawrence was retired from Kerns Bakery, a farmer and a long time member of Weaver Missionary Baptist Church.
