Kathryn Louise Siler, 71 of Pellston, died April 27, 2019 at Hiland Cottage Hospice in Petoskey. Kathy was born on January 28, 1948, the daughter of Henry and Viva Iola “Adelaide” (McDonald) Cabinaw. She attended school in Pellston and graduated in 1965. Kathy married William Siler on September 25, 1971 in Burt Lake. Together, they made their home and raised their family in Pellston. He preceded her in death in 1991. Kathy worked for Control Engineering as a Panel Wireman. She retired at the age of 62, after over 30 years of dedicated hard work. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling on her Gold Wing motorcycle with Bill. They would stop at different campsites all over the country. She liked going to the Casino with her sister, Betty Lee. Kathy also really enjoyed watching sports and would often stop by the High School basketball games to cheer them on. She was a tribal elder with the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians and will be remembered as a loving mother, adoring grandmother, and the best aunt anyone could ask for. She was always there when you needed her. Kathy is survived by her three children, Sam Headley, Dan Headley, and Cindy (Dwight) Galloup; four grandchildren, Kristie Headley, Steven Ingersoll, Christopher (Evelyne) Ingersoll, and Nicholas Ingersoll; 9 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Haylie, Natalie, Laynie, Trentyn, Annalise, Chloe, Ellie and Dominic; brothers, Lucius (Rose) Cabinaw and David (Sherry) Cabinaw; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Siler; brother, Patrick Cabinaw; and sister, Betty Lee DeLorme. There will be a visitation at Stone Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a brief memorial service immediately following at 7:00 p.m., lead by Reverend David Behling. Kathy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Koehler Township Cemetery, and her mother at the McKinley Township cemetery, at a later date.
