She retired from Lear Jet aircraft and spent her retirement traveling with her husband Bill until he passed in 2014. Joyce and Bill entered their marriage in 1971 with 9 children between the two. They made it a point to never differentiate the children by using the word step, which was a testimony to their devotion as loving parents. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Achey; her parents Lillian Weaver and Richard Cochran (Buda, TX), step father George Weaver (Norman, OK), her sister Francis Cooper (New Braunfels, TX), and her son Kent Achey (Wichita). She is survived by 8 children, Danny Holloway & spouse Debbie (Wichita), Cindy Gile & spouse Steve (Cheney), Linda Titus & spouse Myron (Wichita), Shelly Miller & spouse Leonard (Cheney), Jenny Thompson & spouse Arne (Haysville), Kellie Jewett & spouse Toby (Littleton, CO), Marty Holloway & spouse Terri (Mulvane) and David Holloway & spouse Jeremiah (Wichita); 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Richard Cochran Jr (Paul’s Valley OK), Darrell Achey & spouse Debbie (Wichita), and sisters Barbara Strickland (Burnett, TX), Mae Davis (Arlington, TX), and Gloria Weaver (Arlington, TX). Viewing is at Affinity All Faiths Mortuary located at 2850 S Seneca in Wichita KS. From 10am to noon on Tuesday, April 9. A graveside service will be held at 2pm at the Kechi Cemetery in Kechi, KS.
