Obituary of John S. Bechtel John S. Bechtel, Jr. of Montrose, PA John S. Bechtel, Jr., 81, of Montrose, PA passed away, Sunday, April 28, 2019 at his home. Born June 17, 1937 in Wyandotte, MI, he was the son of the late John S. and Johanna May [Muehlhof] Bechtel, Sr. After graduating from Berwick High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by IBM retiring after 27 years. After retiring, he worked at Flynn’s in Lawton. He was a member of Fairdale Community United Methodist Church, Warren Lodge #240 F.& A.M. Fairdale Grange and a past member of I.O.O.F. Rush Lodge #471, Rush, PA. He enjoyed golfing and was involved with girls’ softball when his daughters were younger. Survivors include Wife, Judy Bechtel of Montrose, PA, son, Jeff Bechtel of Montrose, PA, daughters and sons-in-law, Jodi (William) Thomas of LeRaysville, PA, daughter, Jill (Stan) Bennett of Montrose, PA, granddaughters, Carley (Hunter) Williams, Katlyn Bennett and Shyanne Bennett, brother, David M. Bechtel of Hudson, FL, sister, Joanne Bechtel of Berwick, PA, a great-grandchild arriving soon and several nieces and nephews. Services: 3:00 pm Sunday, May 5th at the Fairdale Community United Methodist Church, 6219 Ridge Road, Montrose, PA 18801. Visitation: 1 hour prior to services. A masonic service will be held at 1:45 PM Sunday at the church. The Fairdale Grange will be conducting a service at 1:30 PM Sunday at the church. Instead of flowers: memorial contributions may be made to Rush Volunteer Fire, P.O Box 5, Lawton, PA 18828
