John Paul Walker April 13, 1946 – April 23, 2019 John Paul Walker, 73, residing in South Bend, Indiana, passed away Tuesday morning, April 23, 2019 at his home. He was born to the late Richard and Geraldine (Weisshaar) Walker on April 13, 1946 in South Bend. John proudly served our country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He worked as a mechanic for the Dodge Foundry in Mishawaka, Indiana. John was an avid dog lover. He also enjoyed cooking and was a bargain shopper. John was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 01191 District 7. On August 14, 1998 in South Bend, IN, John married Jackie L., (Strock) Bowman, who survives. He is also survived by three sons, Timothy Walker of Elkhart, Anthony Walker of LaPorte, and Christopher Walker of Mishawaka; five daughters, Nanettee Roper, Astrid Bowman, Rose Bowman, Elexis Bowman and Cassandra Walker-Sleman all of South Bend; sixteen grandchildren; four sisters, Michelle Otolski of South Bend, Rea Browning of Florida, Jan Banicki of South Bend and Lucy Brenner of Florida; and one brother George Walker of South Bend. John was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Paul John Walker, who was born and passed away February 14, 1970. Military Graveside Services will be held at Southlawn Cemetery at a later date.
