John Jack Laird November 22 1952 April 12 2019 (age 66)

John “Jack” Laird age 66 of Metropolis, IL passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 at his home. He was born Nov. 22, 1952 to Donald Lee and Velta Joan (English) Laird who preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Miller-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Forthman officiating. Burial and military rites will follow at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. He is survived by one daughter, Ginger Meeker and husband Michael; one son, Jackie Laird; and two grandchildren, Chelsie and Seth Meeker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anntoinette (Borem) Laird. He was an Army veteran, a retired control operator at Electric Energy Inc., and was of the Baptist faith. Friends may come to the Miller-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11 a.m. Memorials may be left in John’s name to Project Hope P.O.B. 125 Metropolis, IL 62960.
