John Alfred’s Obituary Lafayette: Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maurice for Mr. John Francis. Interment will be held at St. Martin De Porres Cemetery in Scott following the funeral. John Alfred “Johnny” Francis was born on May 3, 1946 to the union of Isaac Francis and Felicia Montgomery Francis. Johnny was a loving and devoted husband to Barbara Ann Alfred Francis for 53 years. He was a kind and loving father to three beautiful children: Frendell (Carlton) Daniels of Houston, TX; Fernell (Kathleen) Francis of Lafayette, LA and Jonathan (Linda) Francis of Baytown, TX. He was the grandfather of two beautiful girls; Airriel and Lyric. Johnny is also survived by his loving big brother; Murphy “Pop” Francis and by his beautiful big sister; Audrey Francis Benoit (Percy), three wonderful sisters-in-law; Joyce Brown, Gloria Alfred ad Betty (Ulysses) Gumbs, two additional brothers-in-law; Clifton (Deborah) McZeal and Calvin Andrus, and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Isaac and Felicia, one brother; Irvin “Baybay” Francis, one sister; Marjorie “Tut” Andrus, five brothers-in-laws; Roy Brown, Nelson Alfred, Jeffrey Alfred, June Alfred, Gerald Alfred and three sisters-in-law; Mildred Francis, Thelma Francis and Mildred McZeal. Johnny was a bricklayer for 58 years. The evidence of his hard work and dedication to his trade can be seen all around Lafayette and surrounding areas. We all know that with Johnny, no one was addressed by their birth name. He was known to rename everyone. His kind heart and open arms will be truly missed by all. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 8:00AM until time of service at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maurice.
