Obituary of Jill Katherine Wood Jill Katherine Wood a life long resident of Amityville, LI on April 11, 2019 at the Hospice Inn with her family at her bedside. Jill was retired from the Amityville Union Free School District after teaching for 44 years. She was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amityville and cherished the many happy times she spent with family and friends whether here or at the family’s 200 acre farm in Vermont. Beloved mother of Jason K. Wood (Carolyn Cordt). Adored grandmother of Kathryn and Kristin Wood. Loving daughter of the late Wesley F. and Mildred K. Junker. Dear sister of the late Kurt Junker (Evalina). Fond aunt of Jay Junker (Bridget). Reposing Sunday from 2-4:30 & 7-9:30. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the chapel of the funeral home Sunday evening at 8:00 pm with the Reverend David W. Anglin, Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation will be private. The family has suggested memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers to; the Wesley, Mildred and Kurt Jumker Scholarship, Development Office, L.I. Lutheran, 131 Brookville Road, Brookville, NY 11545. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Before Jill passed she had some words of encouragement for her family and friends that she would like shared with each of you: “Don’t ever, ever, ever not be happy”
