Janet M. Halama died Sunday March 31, 2019 at Care Partners Assisted Living under the care of LeRoyer Hospice at the age of 73. She was born in Antigo on May 4, 1945, son of the late Henry and Viola (Mosher) Halama. Janet graduated from Antigo High School in 1963. She raised her family in Antigo. She later worked as a governess in California then returned to Antigo. Janet was a Native American freestyle artist. She enjoyed working with animals and doing community service work, especially while she lived in California. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include 3 sons, Rick Hartzog of Lakeland, FL, Steven Hartzog of Antigo, and Shane Hartzog of Land O’ Lakes; 6 grandchildren, Lana, Laura, Shane Jr., Justin, Christopher, and Chrystal; 4 great-grandsons, Dayton, David, Daniel Jr., and Robert; and a sister, Beverly Halama. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Thomas. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 Friday, April 5 at First Baptist Church, 414 Eckert Street, Antigo, with Pastor Dick Kendall officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 at the church. Burial will take place on a later date in Polar Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Langlade County Humane Society. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Janet M.
