James Roy Cook Sr. was born August 23, 1953 in Seville, Florida to Parents: Roy and Rosa Cook. He grew up in Seville, Florida later moving to Georgia and New York eventually making Sarasota, Florida his permanent home. He loved the Lord and would minister the word of God to everyone he came in contact with. James was a great singer, He loved his family with all of his heart. Preceded in death by his Parents and Daughter: Cantrell Cook; He leaves cherished memories to his Wife: Belinda; Daughter: Nakeisha Cook; Son: James Jr.; God Son: Aaron Lewis; Grandchildren: Maurice Cook, Jamari Cook, Bryce Fulmer and Jonathon Cook; Granddaughter: Talasisa Cook; Sisters: Vivian McDonald, Darlene Cook, Valerie (Ricky) Rhodes; Brothers: Wayne Cook and Stanley (Rosetta) Cook; Sister in Law: Eyris (Robert) Brown. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Friday, April 5, 2019 at 720 Manatee Avenue West Bradenton, Florida 34205 under the direction of Apostle I Funeral Home with Homegoing Celebration 2pm Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Happy Gospel Church 1915 53rd Avenue East Bradenton, Florida. Burial will take place 10 am Monday, April 8, 2019 at Sarasota National Cemetery Sarasota, Florida.
